Movie Blog

My mama always said, "Life is like a box a' chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get." Who could ever forget possibly the most famous movie quote of all time? Forrest Gump is just a treasure, with great scenes and memorable moments that seemed to never end until the credits rolled around. We can all relate to so many elements of the timeless classic, no matter where we're from or who we are, and I think that helps make it special.

Watching the movie, we all enjoy seeing Forrest around for some great moments in American history, and being responsible for inventing notoriously popular things like the smiley face, or the phrase "shit happens". Being Americans we all feel close to Forrest because of his accomplishments, which bring some sort of unexplainable feeling like "Wow, Forrest, I remember when that happened". It's really funny when you think about it.

I think the great love story (Jenny) and friendship (Bubba) in the movie are excellent. Everyone sympathizes with Forrest, and it breaks everyone's heart when Forrest exclaims after Jenny says he doesn't wanna marry her, "I am not a smart man, but I know what love is". It seems like just about every aspect of the movie brings us closer to the protagonist, and Forrest truly embraces the image of an American hero, with no egotistical or evil personality traits (or any negative traits) at all. He is really the ultimate good guy, and no one can deny that.

And that's all I have to say about that.

  2. This movie is a classic. It kind of takes you back in history with the watergate scandal and the smiley face shirt and everything else. I think Forest has some adventures that everyone else would love to have. I think this makes people want to watch this movie.

  3. Definately an incredible movie. I actually didn't even see it for the first time until my Junior year of high school. Anyways, I like how despite the sad parts of the movie, it shows the true "can do" attitude that all Americans want. It definately shows how to not be afraid to try something new for the fear of looking stupid.

  4. Forrest Gump is hilarious to me! It took me a while to watch the whole movie because I kept on seeing parts here and there, so it was funny but just okay. When I saw the whole thing altogether, it is absolutely great! The romance in the movie is captivating and touching. It is one of those movies where you wonder how the relationship between the two characters will result.
