Buffy

Ok if I hear the word "metaphor" one more time tonight I will vomit for sure...

Well I actually found the article pretty interesting. I never thought of ever watching the show, but after reading that article I'm definitely second guessing myself a little bit. I used to think the obvious, that it's just a cute high school girl that goes around stabbing vampires in the heart. But now with all of the metaphors of the monsters representing the teen social life issues and all of the other twists I think I might enjoy the show.

The fact that the show is actually centered around metaphors I think gives it a more respectable and watchable tone than most teenage dramas. Metaphors always find a way to confuse us, (well me at least) but then someone says "well that was a metaphor for this" and I slap myself on the back of the head and look forward to trying to unravel the metaphor next time. And knowing that the show is full of metaphors gives us some feeling of anticipation to try and crack these metaphor codes during episodes, and that makes the viewing all the more exciting!

  1. Feel the same way about the if I read the word metaphor one more time comment. But I did like the article as well and I'm not the only one who thought Buffy was a cute girl who went around stabbing vampires and had no social issues. I guess we were both way off.
